The last time I wore false lashes I had a horrible allergic reaction to the glue, which always gets applied to your skin, not the lashes. I swore off lash strips after that incident! Not to mention they are heavy, bulky and a pain to apply, even if you get it right the first try! So I started doing some research on extensions which is where I came across Lashed Up in Skippack and met the lovely owner, Melissa.
Melissa is a certified Xtreme Lash stylist and has the ability to customize your lashes to the exact look you're going for! You want drama? You got it! You want all natural? She can do that too! My lashes are short and sparse (although, Melissa told me everybody says that when they come in)! My goal was a natural, everyday look and I am seriously blown away by the results! I really cannot feel them! It is a completely different experience than false lash strips! Most of the time I forget I have the extensions, until I look in the mirror :) I love being able to leave the house make-up free and still feel feminine and pretty!

What to Expect:

The Eyelash Extensions Procedure:
Prior to the application, your stylist will conduct a thorough consultation allowing you the opportunity to help design your customized lash look. During your Xtreme Lashes® Eyelash Extension application, you will comfortably recline with your eyes closed. The application is painless and relaxing! Melissa told me many of her clients typically fall asleep during the process.
During the application, your stylist will isolate an individual natural lash, then; he/she will expertly bond one eyelash extension to one natural lash. This technique creates a seamless look and feel as if these eyelash extensions were your own.
To ensure your safety during and after the procedure, eyelash extensions are never applied to your skin; only to your natural lashes. Additionally, they are adhered to your natural lash using a safe and proprietary line of Xtreme Lashes® Adhesives.
To keep up with your lashes, there are certain things you need to avoid. Products that contain oil, waterproof mascara (but you won't need mascara at all!) and things with fibers such as cotton balls will deteriorate the bond. This photo shoot is the only time I've worn make-up since getting the extensions and I took it off carefully using a make-up remover wipe. Other than that, these lashes are very little maintenance. After a few weeks you will need to get a refill because your lashes naturally fallout and regrow. That appointment will take a fraction of the time your initial visit takes.
