For Chloe, I started with this cozy sweater poncho. This is a piece she can wear throughout fall and winter--bring on the layers! In addition to skinny jeans, she could wear it with a fun pair of printed leggings. She adores these dark gray ankle boots. They are easy to slip on and comfortable to run around in. Her berry hat compliments the fall color trend seen all over in women's fashion.

Trend alert! Berry tones are all over this fall! I usually steer clear of red because my skin has pink, red undertones, but this deep berry color is working for me.

It's still pretty warm so I'm pulling this look off with shorts and ankle booties. The lace top is from Last Call Neiman Marcus, by Neiman Marcus. I could not find it online, but linked similar styles. Check your local store as they may have some in stock. I love lace-- it's delicate, feminine and looks so pretty!


Try this fishtail braid:

1. Split hair in two sections--A & B
2. Take small section from the back of A and bring it around to the front of B
3. Repeat starting with B 
4. Keep alternating until you are at the bottom and secure!

The girls and I had a great time celebrating the re-opening of Posh Collections Boutique in Malvern! We were asked to become live mannequins as part of the event. Each of us styled three looks for the evening showcasing their fall look book.

When planning outfits I typically abide by a few general guidelines:

• Start with the kids and pick a base color, accent with complimentary and/or neutrals (consider denim a neutral)

• I start with the kids because they are my main focus and what I print for the house.
• This year I chose cranberry because berry tones are trending this fall
• My pink dress was pale enough to compliment and I love how feminine it is. Plus I like texture in a photo (the lace).
• Think coordinate, not matchy-matchy

• Avoid bold patterns/prints for adults. Kids can pull them off, but alternate.

• If I put Chloe in a print, I would have kept the boys solid.
• You want outfits to compliment the people wearing them, not distract

• Consider your surroundings

• Are you outdoors? In the country? By an old barn? Keep it casual. Maybe have your hubs keep his beard :) Like I did.
• In a studio? Somewhere glamorous? You can go fancy, more polished.
